What is a CSA?

When you become a member of Woodside Farms, you receive our commitment to growing the freshest, most nutritious food for you and your family.

Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a mutually beneficial relationship between the farmer and the community member. A CSA Farm Share is a subscription to a season's worth of sustainable, locally grown produce that is distributed to members throughout the harvesting season.  In this model, the community member financially invests in the farm at the beginning of the season, and the farmer is better able to plan and budget for the season to come.

In return for the member's financial investment, the farmer will grow a variety of fruits and vegetables (our produce is all grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers) that the member will be able to choose from each week. CSA Farm Share members are always priority and reap the benefits by receiving the greatest variety and first pick of veggies just coming into season.  In many CSA Farm Share programs, the farm will pack a box of produce for you and that is what you get, but we offer a "market style" CSA Farm Share, where you are able to pick and choose exactly what you want each week at one of our two Farmers Markets here at Woodside Farms.

Members also have some shared risk, as weather and other unforeseen circumstances can result in crop losses, but we will always do our best to ensure you are getting an excellent value.
