Woodside Farms Celebrates Earth Day

This year, Earth day is going to be (biode-)GREAT(able)!

If you’ve already read our newsletter, I’m sorry for using the same joke twice - I was just kind of proud of it. Anyway, Earth Day is this week! For over 50 years, Earth Day has helped to bring much-needed attention to our largest, yet most fragile home, planet Earth. Over the decades, Earth Day celebrations have brought hundreds of millions of people into fighting for environmental justice, spanning 193 countries. This year to celebrate, Woodside Farms is hosting a party on Saturday the 24th from 11 am-2 pm.

I know what you’re thinking, “Aren’t the farm stands usually on Saturday mornings until noon anyway?” You’re right! They are! But this week we’re going to be extending our hours throughout the duration of the party in hopes that everyone will have access to farm-fresh produce. You’re also probably thinking, “great! But what else will there be?” I’m getting to it, I’m getting to it!

Redemption BBQ will be there with their food truck as well as Garden Grove Brewery and Urban Winery. We’ll also be having games (corn hole and croquet), farm tours (where are those chickens??), live music (don’t forget to wear your dancin’ boots!), cooking demos (tons of tasty ideas for all that farm-fresh produce), plant sales (start your own garden at home or add to it!) and planting activities (you get to play in the dirt and keep some of it to take home!). Not to mention a raffle drawing sometime during the party where your attendance is your ticket (no purchase required). Prizes include gift cards to our farm stands with a grand prize of 1 free spring CSA subscription - BUT- you must be present to collect your prizes.

Come celebrate this big beautiful ball we call home this Saturday. Bring your friends and family - and maybe even a complete stranger or two. Everyone loves Earth Day! We can’t wait to see you all there!
